Thanks to everyone for the lovely birthday wishes this weekend. As I entered my last year to enjoy in my 20’s, I’ll admit that at first, I had a difficult time. Has anyone else experienced getting older to be somewhat hard?
But as the weekend played out, and I was surrounded by my friends and family, God just overwhelmed me with a sense of THANKFULNESS. I am alive and healthy, I am loved, I LOVE OTHERS, and most importantly, God has created me to bring Him glory. So why should turning another year older be so bad?
This weekend, I spent a lot of time reflecting over my life. As I did that, God really walked me through a lot of important points and lessons learned. All the situations I have lived through, each one has been a pivotal point for me. God used them all to grow me as a person. Good or bad, I wouldn’t take back any of them, because they have molded me and shaped me into the person I am now. We all can choose what type of lens we view our life with. I’m choosing to view mine through God’s eyes. What about you? When you reflect back on your life, the journey you have been on, what type of perspective do you have?

Great books about Home Decor, these were on the top of my Birthday Wish List. Thanks Mom & Heather. My mother in law created a one of a kind journal in my favorite shade of green.

There is nothing better than knowing someone took the time to create something just for you. My favorite things to receive are drawings from my two little nieces, as seen in the first picture shown. Here are two cards made by mother and sister in law. You can find more like these here.

Melissa, I hope you have many happy birthdays! I find getting older very comfortable, I fit in my skin better now…not to mention my mental state of mind is much more relaxed. Each year brings wisdom and hopefully deeper faith. Enjoy them!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness…I’m catching up on blogs (haven’t read any in two weeks-too busy!). Sorry I didn’t wish you one earlier!
I’m right behind you in the turning 29 (next month in fact) thing and feel like I’m in the same boat (I never thought I would ever be this close to 30!!). Thanks for the uplifting comments about remembering to be grateful that I’ve even made it this far! And to give God all the glory!!!! I”m so grateful every day that He is there to guide me!! We are so lucky to be able to know that!
Happy birthday again girl!! (and I’m soo drooling over the iPhone over here!)
