Every Woman Needs Her Luxuries

by Melissa Lewis on August 26, 2008

It seems as though this year has been our busiest yet at Off The Wall. In addition to our faux finishing business, we created our own line of custom made picture frames to the mix over two years ago. And with our biggest show coming up, it’s harder and harder to take the time for the little luxuries we women should treat ourselves to every now and then.

There are two things I don’t go without no matter what the day is filled with…

First, or I guess I should say last because this is a night time routine, I treat my cuticles to Sally Hansen’s Cuticle Oil. I’ve always had a hard time having long and healthy nails, but even more so now that my hands take a regular washing in paint thinner and brush cleaner. I started using this little bottle of oil a while ago, and it is truly the only thing that has ever made a difference!

Another vital part of my day…

We LOVE our sweets. I especially have a fondness for chocolate! These are just the perfect cure all for my sweet tooth at the end of the day. Low in sugar and in fat AND it still taste just as yummy!
And while we work…
To rev up our creative juices (or really just because we like to be goofy and sing while we work), we gotta have our music. Lately, the soundtrack to Mama Mia has been playing in the background. But today, I was pleasantly surprised when Jaime brought in her newest musical collection. So if you wanna know what we do while we are painting, we are usually singing along to something like this…

Jaime, you’re too sweet:)

Fifi, I agree, it wasn’t hard to get us moving. A little difficult though to keep our bottoms in a seat to paint though!

I’m hooked on those fudge bars, too. I’ve been eating them all summer. Never tried that cuticle oil, but I’ll have to check it out! -Julia

I love a drop of castor oil which may be ingested… I find it at the health food store and I love fudge in any form! Little luxuries make life fun!

Sorry, let me explain, the castor oil may be used on hands for smooth soft skin and cuticles.
